When I Came Home 70 minutes. directed by Dan Lohaus Iraq War veteran Herold Noel suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and lives out of his car in Brooklyn. Using Noel's story as a fulcrum, this doc examines the wider issue of homeless U.S. military veterans-from Vietnam to Iraq-who have to fight tooth-and-nail to receive the benefits promised to them by their government. When you buy a DVD of When I Came Home, Lohaus Films LLC will donate $5 to one of the following homeless veterans organizations. These organizations really helped me out as I was making the film and I know that they do great work each day to care for our veterans. I’m starting with these groups because it’s my way of thanking them and I also know that many of them are now serving homeless veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
